New Additions!

This is our youngest pygmy baby.  Is she a doll or what?! ~ SOLD! To Doug Mackey with Classic Lawns, Inc. out of Oklahoma City, OK.  This little girl along with her mom and several other Pygmys all went to a great home at Doug's place!

One of our pygmy mommies finally had her twins yesterday!  We are so excited!  They are incredibly tiny, only about 6 inches tall.  The little brown paint is a female and the little black paint is a male.

One of our other pygmys had her baby (Moon Pie - a wild, crazy little girl who kept climbing the trees!), but she was quite a bit larger so we are in awe of these little guys' size.

Check the coat out on this little guy!  He is too handsome!

The sunsets on Shady Hill are the most incredible anywhere.

With a view to the West for as far as the eye can see, the sun sets spectacularly on Shady Hill every evening.

Throughout the summer, Brig and I sit on the front porch and watch the sun go down and we marvel at the evening brillance.

April 24th
I captured this shot of the sunset last night just as it was going down over the horizon.  Not a cloud in the sky but the colors were absolutely amazing.  I can't wait to capture a thunderstorm out there!

I'll try and bring you a new sunset as often as I can, so keep checking this page for new pictures!

Scotty just had to go jump into a mud hole right before bed time.  Looks like a wet rat doesn't he!  I think he did it just so he could take a bath.  He is all clean now but that won't last for long.  He is a small dog but country as they get!

Everybody needs a pup like Buck!  Our pet Beagle, he gets his name from the sound of his bark, Buuuuuuuuuuck, Buuuuuuuuck.  He is almost 6 months old now, and he stands about 12 inches tall.  He loves to go hunting and playing in the mud!

Charlotte the mama pig is going to have her babies any time!  This photo was taken of her on the evening of 27 April, and as you can she is very, very large.  She probably weighs in around 450 pounds and will have at least a dozen little piglets.  In fact, that is what I'm doing today, waiting for her to decide it's time!  (Steve)

Right on the money, as Brig predicted, Charlotte had her piglets on the 28th, although, a little later in the evening than we expected!  We stayed up half the night helping her deliver the babies, 14 all together.

They are cute little guys and gals, crossed with a grand champion Hampshire boar, Charlotte's babies all came out white with little black dots all over them.

They are going to be so cute and strong!  Look at their muscles!

Above you'll see Ranger, the protector!  He loves children and won't hurt any of our other animals. In fact yesterday, a baby chick got out and Ranger snatched it up in his mouth and braught it to me, a little slobbery but unharmed.  He is a great dog who just wants to play catch and get attention!   When you pull up to Shady Hill, he will be leading the charge to great you.  Don't worry he won't bite, he just wants to play!  Tell that to the Rural Mail Carrier!  By the way, thanks for bringing us the mail everyday Pat! : )

Goldie is our girl, she was rescued from Miami Florida by Brig before we moved out here.  Actually it was the week before we left Florida to come here.  Sometimes I wonder who rescued who cause Goldie is the most loving animal I've ever known!  She loves it out in the country! She keeps all the other dogs in line, making sure they behave.  She loves cats and won't let the other dogs mess with them.
